Cystic fibrosis Walk a success!
I was feeling a bit down about the Great Strides Walk.
I usually am fairly upbeat about it all, thanks totally to God's grace, but about two times a year, I tend to feel a bit overwhelmed. One, at the Cystic Fibrosis conference, the other the Great Strides Walk. It always brings into perspective the hard parts of the disease. It seems that every year I hear about someone else who has passed away from Cystic Fibrosis. It's hard.
This year my women's adventure group was going to join our team and support us. It didn't happen. I was feeling kinda blue. However, our home school youth group decided to join us! We ended up with a large group. It was great!
We even ended up in the newspaper! http://www.theolympian.com/localnewsfeed/story/465308.html

No More shots!
Shots are awful. I always seem to be at the doctors office, but somehow I got behind on all the kids immunizations. So all the kids had to have three or four shots!
I'm glad we're all caught up. I hate shots. Josiah has been taking these terrible shots every two weeks for the past six months. There are three shots that go slowly into the fatty part of the back of his arm. They are excruciating. It is especially hard on him, but it is hard on the other kids too. They would moan and cry when we had another shot day. It was very hard.
The kids would be troopers reading books while we had to wait for two hours after each shot. It was no fun.
When we went to Children's last, the doctor told us that if the shots hadn't helped him yet, they wouldn't help him. So NO MORE SHOTS! I'm happy about the no-more-shots bit, but sad that they didn't help Josiah feel better.

Wonders of Worship - kids worship team
What a special Mother's day! My kids are all in the W.O.W. team. Every year on Mother's day the kids get to lead worship for all three adult services. They did such a great job! I am so proud of them. The picture doesn't show Josiah, but he plays the conga drum. My dh plays the guitar and I help lead the kids with the songs and motions. It's a family thing. Joshua was behind Joseph, so I don't know if he showed up very well.

BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN SISTER
by Maya Angelou
'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
that a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin''
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain..
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Motherhood and God's faithful love....
Being a mother has given me a greater understanding of God's faithful love.
No matter if my kids have good days or bad, I'm there for them. Whether they are sick physically or if they are caught in sin, I'm still there for them. I love them unconditionally.
The other day after I put the kids down to bed, I was reading a book. Suddenly, my daughter came flying in the room with her hands to her throat, eyes bulging and turning purple. I jumped up, turned her upside down, pounded on her back until she could breathe again. After a glass of water, she admitted she had snuck a piece of hard candy in her bed. She was eating it, when it got stuck in her throat.
Even though she knew she was wrong to have eaten the candy without permission, she had no problem running to me when she was in trouble. She knew I wouldn't reject her for sinning.
Sometimes when we are stuck in sin, we can be afraid to come to the Father. Especially when it's something we have been "talked to" about before.
If my daughter had no fear running to me, her earthly mother, how much more should we be able to run to the Father? God is a faithful God. He doesn't give up on us. His love is unconditional. It is a faithful love.
Psalms 103:13,17 Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him...But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him.

Wow! This has been a busy month! I'll try and sit down and get my blogging caught up maybe next week. We have a busy weekend with the Great Strides Walk and the Miracle Makers telethon. If you can watch Komo channel 4 Saturday at 7:00 Josiah will be on! For now, here are some quotes to ponder:
